Community Engagement

Engagement is something that comes naturally to the way we work. We specialise in designing and building creative and inspiring public spaces with local people. Our process of ‘making’ in community spaces inadvertently fosters engagement from the community, from a place of curiosity rather than needing to convince people to be interested in saving the planet. This eradicates the need to manufacture trust and instead fosters solidarity.

Tustin Estate

The Tustin Estate in Peckham is having extensive work done to maintain the blocks, working around the community living there. In collaboration with the Tenants and Residents Association and Resolve Collective we took all the pallets we could get our hands on from the building site to create a new open space for residents.

From planters to micro football, benches, to feature arches, we were just about to do a huge community installation and painting party when, like so many other projects….. Coronavirus and lockdown hit. We will be back and we will finish the job as soon as it is safe and appropriate to do so. Watch this space, more photos coming soon!

Don’t depend on diesel

However big or heavy, every project and piece of equipment is designed to be brought to site by bike, cargo bike or trailer. Not just because it is a sustainable way of doing things, but also to help normalise the idea that most trades don’t actually need a van.
